Philip Badzuh

Philip first joined the lab in fall 2019 prior to starting his PhD studies at UNC Charlotte in Bioinformatics. During those first few months, he led our testing efforts for the IGB 9.1.0 release. He also made multiple contributions to the IGB App Store, the Genome Dashboard, and the Track Hub facade software.

In summer 2020, he rejoined the lab full-time as a rotation student and later as a PhD student. His  research focuses on developing better ways to integrate genomic data to enable interactive visualization in genome browsers.

Philip received his undergraduate degree in Biology at UNC Charlotte in 2019 with a minor in Bioinformatics. In addition to his extensive domain knowledge in biology, Philip brings a deep interest in all aspects of computer science, from algorithms to user interface design.
