Blending engineering and research

Loraine Lab Research at UNC Charlotte uses methods from computer science and computational biology to analyze data sets and produce new knowledge about biology.

We use free, open source tools other people made. We also make new ones.

When we think our creations could help a larger audience, we try to make them easy for others to pick up, use, study, or build on.

Integrated Genome Browser (IGB) is an example, including changes made to it since around 2008, or so. To download IGB, visit https://bioviz.org
