Paige Kulzer

Paige KulzerPaige joined the lab in 2024 as a Bioinformatics Data Manager and Trainer. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2020, double majoring in both Biology and Environmental Science.

During her time as an undergraduate, Paige conducted research on biofuels at the Wisconsin Energy Institute, as well as the diet and population genetics of threatened and endangered species with the Peery Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Lab. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in Wildlife Ecology in 2023, studying the population structure and declining genetic variation of spotted owls.

In her role with the Loraine Lab, Paige developed outreach materials, such as workshops, presentations, and videos, to teach students and researchers alike how to use the Integrated Genome Browser. Her unique background conducting research from benchwork to bioinformatics helped bridge the communication gap between scientists, developers, and the public. Paige now works at the Silver Family Blood Cancer Institute of the Lurie Cancer Center as a Bioinformatics Analyst.
